Other multi-cooker brands are putting the pressure on Instant Pot sales on eBay

Instant Pot once owned the culinary hearts of the home chef, but with a barrage of multi-purpose cookers coming onto the market, especially in time for Christmas – let’s take a look at which brands on eBay are turning up the heat in the kitchen.

The Instant Pot 8 QT Viva 9-in-1 Multi-Use Programmable Pressure Cooker is the bestselling product within the Instant Pot range on eBay. At the average sales price of $80.99 it is an affordable kitchen gadget that does 9 things: pressure cook, slow cook, cooks rice, makes yogurt, cooks eggs, sautes, steams, warms, and sterilizes.

The Ninja Foodi (OP301) 6.5qt cooker is a premium offering taking a different approach to cooking innovations. Like the Instant Pot, it can pressure cook, steam, slow cook, sear/sauté and keep warm - but it has additional functions to air crisp, bake/roast, and broil. It retails at approximately $120 and despite the 50% price premium from the Instant Pot, it sells almost 6x more than Instant Pot on eBay.

Ninja’s TenderCrisp™ technology, combining pressure cooking with air frying, sets it apart from other multi cookers and is likely the reason it attracts the premium buyer. This technology has been such a winner for Ninja that it has included a version of it in their recent release of their new 4-in-1 Grill priced at more than $200 on eBay.

Insignia is a no-frills small kitchen appliance brand that has introduced a look-a-like Instant Pot multi cooker. Insignia’s standard multi-function cooker is 8qt rather than Instant Pot’s 6.5qt and has only 5 functions rather than Instant Pot’s 9. It also does not tout any distinctive features like Ninja. However, at the average price of $40.60, reviewers praise Insignia’s reliability and good value. And for those pragmatically priced cooks, Insignia sold almost 50% more than the Instant Pot on eBay.
